Free May and Spring Teaching Resources
Welcome to the 18th newsletter of Teachers Have Class from Unique Teaching Resources!
If you have not visited Unique Teaching Resources during the past month, you
will notice that this newsletter contains a new layout and design.
During the month of April, I was busy working on a new design layout for my website and
beginning the slow process of changing my previous web pages over to this
new layout and format.
I have over 200 different pages on my website and I have currently switched over
about 30 of these pages to my new layout. It will probably take me until the end of June until I
have finished switching over all 200+ pages to this new layout.
Between now and the end of June, you will
come across pages on Unique Teaching Resources that still have the old layout on them (blue borders on the left and
right hand margins). I appreciate your patience as I am in the middle of this transition process.

edition of Teachers Have Class will only be available for 5 days.
After 5 days, the links to these free May teaching resources will be
removed. Then, I will post this newsletter on my website so that teachers
who visit Unique Teaching Resources will be able to read old editions
of Teachers Have Class.
Although teachers who visit my website can read all of the previous editions
of my newsletter, I only provide these free monthly teaching resources to the teachers
who have signed up to receive Teachers Have Class. These free resources are
my small way of thanking these teachers for their support and interest.
1. Free Printable Worksheets For May and Spring

In each of my newsletters, I include a free set of creative writing teaching resources that includes a bulletin board display banner and matching printable worksheets.
During the month of May, I hope that your students' writing skills bloom as

I believe that it is important to recognize students' hard work and achievement all year long.
One way of providing this type of positive reinforcement is by presenting award certificates to your students frequently during the the entire school year.

4. Free Caterpillar Math Numberline
Classroom Display Set
In my April newsletter, I included a free caterpillar alphabet display.
This month I am giving away a free copy of a
matching teaching resource for your math curriculum:
Caterpillar Number Line.
This is a caterpillar shaped number line that you can use as a display
along the walls of your classroom or along the top of chalkboard or whiteboard.
This caterpillar math number line can be displayed straight across.
You could also make this caterpillar number line
weave up and down as if it is crawling.
caterpillar's head and tail sections, as well as a title speech bubble.
54 feet in length after it is assembled together!
5. Printable Calendar for May
Classroom Display and Pocket Chart Calendar Set
Each month I provide a free printable calendar set in my newsletter. These free calendar sets can be displayed on a bulletin board or placed inside a pocket chart. Below each calendar set, you will find a list of writing prompts for that month that may spark a creative writing idea that you could use with your students.
Below is my May printable calendar set and the link to download it. The May title is a 2 page banner that should fit in most standardized monthly pocket charts that many teachers use. I have designed large May days of the week that you may find useful. The calendar number dates also fit in pocket charts, and I have included a blank square and a birthday square to use.

6. May Writing Prompts

I'm writing to tell you that my students just finished the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory group projects. They worked so hard, and the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory projects turned out great!
