On this page, you will find unique math displays and activities to use at the beginning
of the school year in your classroom.
The majority of these Back To School math teaching resources are
appropriate to use all year long.
On this page, you will find math display sets for shapes, key
words used in word problems, and fractions.
For the area of multiplication, there are two different incentive charts
that will help you to motivate and reward your students for learning their times tables.

This is an ice cream shaped multiplication incentive chart that you can
use to record your students' progress as they are learning their multiplication facts 1 - 10, or 1 - 12.
This unique math multiplication incentive chart grows in height
as your students learn their multiplication facts.
Each student should begin with an ice cream cone displayed on
a bulletin board in your classroom. As a student learns a
new times table, she will place a new scoop of ice cream on top of her ice cream cone.
Consequently, your students' ice cream cone
charts are growing in height as they are learning their multiplication facts.
When these ice cream multiplication charts are completed, they
measure 31 inches in height and 3 inches in width.
This math multiplication incentive chart set includes the following
teaching resources:
Below is an example of the directions worksheet that is
included in this Back to School math teaching resources set.

Below are examples of the cone and ice cream scoop templates.
There are 12 different colors of ice cream scoops.
These ice cream scoops are glued on top of each other as
your students learn each of their times tables (see examples below).

If you prefer to have your students color their cones and ice cream scoops
themselves, there are black and white templates in this set as well.

This Back to School math teaching resources set includes 2 student award certificates
for you to present to your students after they have mastered learning their multiplication times tables.

This multiplication award certificate is for learning the 1 - 10 times tables.

This multiplication award certificate is for learning the 1 - 12 times tables.

There are also black and white copies of these award
certificates included in this set of math teaching resources.

Above is a second banner that is included in this set. This is a vertical 3 page banner.
There are two versions of this banner, one that says "MATH" and another
that says "MATHS," depending on the wording used in your country.
Below you will find a matching teaching resources set.

This word problem teaching resource is a math bulletin display set that will assist
your students in solving math word problems involving addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division.
These 4 brightly colored ice cream sets will make an eye catching math word problems
display in your classroom.
Each addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division key words set
contains 15 different key words to use. You can choose to use all 15 ice
cream scoops for each set, or you can select the ones that are referred
to in your math curriculum.
The ice cream scoops are designed to stack on top of each other and
each set is a different color.
These large word problem displays will be a great visual
reminder and a help to your students. Your students will be able to
refer to these ice cream displays when they are solving math word problems.

Add pizzazz to your math program with these pizza shaped incentive charts.
These pizza multiplication charts will help you to encourage your students to
master learning their times tables.
These math charts will help your
students multiply with pizzazz and to become enthusiastic about learning
their multiplication facts!
These multiplication pizza sticker charts provide you with everything that
you need to encourage your students to master learning their times tables.
You will be able to reward your students as they are learning each multiplication
fact by giving them a slice of pizza to glue onto their incentive charts.
By using these unique math incentive charts, you will be providing motivation
and positive reinforcement for your students to memorize their times tables.
Depending on the grade level that you teach, some teachers will require
their students to learn the times tables 1 - 10, and other teachers will
require their students to learn the times tables 1 - 12.
There are two sets of pizza sticker charts in this Back to School math teaching
resources set. You can choose which one you want to use with your students.
Multiplication Pizza Templates #1: 1 - 10 times tables
Your students will enjoy taking their completed pizza sticker
charts home with them when they have learned their times tables and sharing
this achievement with their parents.
The parents of your students will
appreciate the extra effort that you have put into promoting learning
the times tables in a fun and rewarding way.

This Back to School math teaching resources set includes the following:
5 Page Bulletin Board Display Banner
I personally like to use the color pizza templates, instead of having students
color the black and white pizza templates themselves.
I cut out the plain color pizza templates and give one to each student
and have them write their names in the box.
Below is an example of the first template, the plain pizza.
Each child should be given one of these plain pizza templates.
I like to display my students' multiplication pizza charts on a bulletin board in my classroom.

Next, I laminate the plain pizza charts. By doing this, later when I take each
student's multiplication pizza chart off of my bulletin board, the chart does not
accidentally rip.
I also think that it looks impressive to parents to send home these
colorful laminated pizza charts when they are completed.
My students enjoy displaying their finished multiplication charts
in their bedrooms, or on their refrigerators, as a sign of their
math achievement.
After I have laminated my students' plain multiplication pizza sticker
charts, I make a bulletin board display featuring these colorful incentive charts.
Many teachers like to make classroom bulletin board displays featuring their
students' incentive and sticker charts.
These multiplication pizza sticker
charts make a colorful bulletin board display and provide a strong visual
reminder to students of the math goal that they are working towards.

I do not laminate the pizza templates that contain the ingredients on
them because students will be cutting these pizzas into individual slices.

Students cut this ingredient pizza template
into 10 slices and place the slices in an envelope.
As students learn a times table, they take that slice of pizza out of their envelopes
and glue that slice onto their plain pizzas on the classroom bulletin board display.

I realize that not all teachers are able to print color templates for
their students, so I have also included black and white pizza templates in this set.
You can have your students color their multiplication
charts themselves using the black and white pizza templates.

These unique multiplication charts are a wonderful way to positively
reinforce your students for learning their times tables. When my students have learned
their times tables, I like to recognize this accomplishment by presenting
them with a matching award certificate.
You can present this matching multiplication award to your students when they have
reached their goal of learning 10 (or 12) times tables.
Your students will be excited to take home their completed multiplication charts
and math awards. Their parents will be impressed
with the extra effort that you have put forth into
positively reinforcing your students to learn their times tables.
Below are examples of the matching student award certificates that are included in this
set of Back to School math teaching resources.

This math classroom display resource includes equivalent sized fraction bars
for 1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, and 1/8. Each bar measures 19 inches
in length when glued together.
These large fraction bars are ideal when first introducing fractions
to your students. You can also use them to make a math bulletin
board display about fractions.
These 7 fraction bars are glued together similar to gluing together
a long bulletin board display banner.
This Back to School math teaching resources set also includes student fraction worksheets for you to use with your
students when you are introducing fractions to them.
In the first worksheet (shown below), the fractions bars are lined up next to each other
so that students can visually compare and see the relationships between
the different fractions (1/2 = 2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8). There are also color versions
of these printable worksheets for you to use included in this set of math teaching resources.

In the second worksheet, the fraction bars are separated into horizontal pieces, so
that it is easy for students to cut these into 7 separate strips of fraction bars.

In the third and fourth set of printable worksheets,
the fraction bars are separated into individual pieces.
This math teaching resources set also contains 4 student worksheets that require
students to use their fraction bars to solve different types of questions.

Brighten up your classroom for the first day of school by designing a math
bulletin board display containing 12 different math geometric shapes.
This set of Back to School math teaching resources includes 12 one page posters of the following geometric
shapes:

Heidi, I just had to write and let you know that your website has helped me create the most awesome author study of Roald Dahl's books. My students loved completing the big animal shaped projects you designed for The Enormous Crocodile, Esio Trot, and The Giraffe, and the Pelly and Me. For the final project, they had so much fun writing and drawing about the characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory using your Willy Wonka Factory project. Thanks for sharing your scrumdiddlyumptious ideas!
I can honestly say that I have never had such great results from children with a book report as I did using this wanted poster book report activity. I was blown away and the parents who have seen the finished projects were amazed too. Thank you! I will definitely log on again to see your other products and your after sales service is awesome, thanks again. Very much appreciated.
Thank you for all that you do! You are helping all of us to become better educators!
I just wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU for the free downloads that are included in your newsletter Teachers Have Class each month, I look forward to receiving every single issue. I absolutely love your products and what you do. I am so excited to use your resources through my teaching journey. Keep up the awesome work. Happy Holidays!
Your lesson plans for Stellaluna, Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas have saved me so much planning time this year. My Gr. 3 students really enjoyed completing the projects that you designed for each of these books. I was able to create great Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas displays in my classroom this year with their projects. Thanks for sharing your ideas and for saving me time.
My students loved your seasonal powerpoint games for Halloween and Thanksgiving. They thought they were playing a game instead of reviewing grammar ;-) I've already purchased all of your other holiday powerpoint lesson plans. Keep making more of these great activities, more POWER to you Heidi!
Thank you so much for letting me know about the new book report templates. I have been anxiously watching for the house book report project to be posted on your site, so I was excited to be able to purchase it today. It is absolutely adorable. I must tell you that I have received so many compliments from other teachers this year about my students' book reports that I have displayed in our school halls. Thank you again for all of your wonderful ideas....you make my life so much easier as a teacher!
I want to write and tell you that I love the resources that you make and share with us, they have truly been helpful to me and my students. I have been teaching grammar rules in a more exciting way, and I owe it all to you. Your grammar powerpoint lessons have been such a blessing! Thank you very much!
I feel so fortunate to have found your website and I have referred several of my co-workers to your website. Just for the month of January, there were three teachers displaying your book reports. I had the trophy reports, my neighbor to the left had the computer reports, and my neighbor to the right had the birthday cake reports. Thank you so very much for all of your work!
I just wanted to say thank you for the most amazing teaching resources that I have ever come across in my thirty years of teaching. I have used many of your book report sets this year and my students absolutely loved them. What was particularly pleasing was seeing some of my reluctant readers (especially the boys) really wanting to read books and complete the activities. Keep up the great work!
I am in awe of what you have accomplished and created for those of us teaching in the public sector. Good for you for taking time off and self publishing. Your enthusiasm is contagious and your generosity is amazing. I recently provided a reading in-service for the K-5 staff at my school. I listed your website as a "must" to visit.
Thanks you for your expertise, creativity, and heartfelt enthusiasm. You are an inspiration to new and veteran teachers and a model for those of us who have not had the guts to go out on our own. You did it!!! I suggest that you go on the speaking circuit and share your knowledge and creativity at the International Reading Association Meetings and the State Reading Associations.
I'm writing to tell you that my students just finished the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory group projects. They worked so hard, and the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory projects turned out great! We had them to show for student led conferences. The parents were very impressed, and so were many of the other teachers and my principal. They all commented on my students' work and your creative templates. My students had so much fun doing these projects. I also used the multiplication pizza sticker charts. My students loved those as well!! Thank you so much for all of your amazing products.
My students are working on their Charlie and Chocolate Factory projects that I bought on your website. One of my students said how nice the other character wheels were and he said, "Besides this is just fun!" Not bad for a third grade boy!!
Just wanted to say thank you so much for your wonderful site and the excellent resources that you provide at such reasonable prices. I purchased and used your lesson plans for the The Giving Tree with my students, and it was a blast. Thanks again!
Simply stated, I LOVE YOUR BOOK REPORT SETS!!!!!!! I'm interested in purchasing them ALL!!!! I've been looking for something like this for quite some time. My students are so excited about reading this year, and it is all because of your fun projects!
