Do you give your students awards and certificates at the end of the semester and at the end of
the school year?
That's great, but you are missing an important opportunity to positively reinforce your
students if you only select these times of the year to present your students with awards
that they can take home to share with their parents.
Some students never receive an award at end of the year awards assemblies. Imagine how these students feel year after year when they know that they will never receive a recognition award during the school year.
It is important to recognize improvement and achievement in your students who are struggling with the curriculum or performing below grade level.
When you give an award to a lower achieving student, you boost his or her confidence level. During the rest of the school year, that student is more likely to continue working hard, or even harder, in that academic area.
I encourage you to try handing out student achievement awards once a week at the end of the school week. When you recognize, notice, and reward students' small achievements, as well as their large achievements, you are far more likely to see your students continue to work hard during the rest of the school year.
Your students' parents will appreciate this extra effort on your part as well!

On this set of awards pages, you will find a variety of certificates to present to
your students in a variety of different subject areas and school related themes. For
each award, there is a color copy of the certificate, as well as a black and
white copy.
Each of my student awards is designed with a large border so that it is easy
for you to cut it out. To make it seem more official and important, I like to
laminate my students' certificates before I hand them out.
