Welcome to my spring printable worksheets page. This page shows examples of colorful April, May, and spring worksheets and matching bulletin board display banner sets.
On this page, you will find blank spring printable worksheets with the following graphics and themes: sunflowers, turtles, flowers, bees, butterflies, and Earth Day.
It is often difficult to get students enthusiastic about writing assignments, but I have found that students immediately become more interested in writing activities when the response worksheets are unique and colorful. For final draft writing assignments, when I give my students colorful printable worksheets to write on, I have found that they tend to use their best effort and they are more careful to not make careless spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
I have designed my spring creative writing worksheets to have large borders on them. I cut the white edges off of my students' color stationery, as I think that they look better displayed on a bulletin board this way.
My spring worksheet sets contain the following:
This spring printable worksheets set is designed in the shape of a sunflower and pot template. These sunflower writing templates measure 12 inches in width and 15 inches in height after they are assembled together.
This set includes a matching five page sunflower bulletin board display banner (above).
This set include three templates that assemble into the shape of two sunflowers inside a plant pot. Below is an example of what the finished sunflower templates look like when they are assembled together.
These sunflower templates would be ideal to use for a creative writing assignment that contains a beginning, middle, and end because the students have 3 separate writing areas in these templates.
These spring printable worksheets could also be used to write spring poems, or for a science unit on plants or flowers. I'm sure you will be blooming with creative ideas of how you could use these spring flower templates with your students!
This Sunflower Creative Writing set includes two first draft writing worksheets. The line spaces on the first draft worksheets match the lines spaces on the final draft sunflower templates.
This Sunflower Creative Writing Template set includes 2 black and white final draft sunflowers and 1 pot template. Your students will enjoy writing and then coloring these unique spring printable worksheets.
After students cut out the three templates (2 sunflowers and one pot), they glue one sunflower on a stem. When they glue the second sunflower on the second stem, it overlaps the first flower's petals (but not the writing space) and is slightly higher.
Below is an example of the final draft sunflower templates, only one sunflower is shown because they are exactly the same.
As your students are cutting and assembling their sunflower templates together, it is helpful to have a finished example for them to see. This will give them a visual idea of how to overlap the two sunflowers (without covering the writing space), and making one of the sunflowers slightly higher than the other.
To save you time in having to color your example that you show your students, I have provided color sunflower templates in this set of spring printable worksheets.
This Sunflower Creative Writing Template set includes 12 pages of sunflower bulletin board accent pieces to use to help you in designing and decorating your bulletin board display.
There are 4 sunflowers that say "Our Sunflowers Are Blooming!"
There are also 4 smaller sunflowers to use as accent pieces.
This spring printable worksheets set is in the shape of a turtle. These turtle creative writing templates measure 10 inches in width and 6 inches in height.
This set includes a matching five page turtle bulletin board display banner (above).
This spring printable worksheets set includes color templates of a turtle facing left and a turtle facing right. You can use these color templates as examples to share with your students, or you could print out a color set of turtle templates for your students to write on. The left turtle template is shown below.
These turtle templates would be ideal to use for a short writing assignment, poetry, a science unit, or with a novel that has a turtle theme such as ESIO TROT by Roald Dahl or Yertle the Turtle by Dr. Seuss.
This Turtle Creative Writing set includes a first draft writing worksheet. The line spaces on the first draft worksheet match the line spaces on the final draft turtle templates.
This Turtle Creative Writing set includes black and white final draft turtle templates. I have designed left and right facing turtle templates so that your bulletin board display will have turtles walking in both directions.
This Turtle Creative Writing set includes 15 pages of turtle bulletin board accent pieces to use to help you in designing your bulletin board display.
There are 3 different sizes of turtles and 3 different colors of turtle accent pieces.

What a delightful and informative site!!! I'm having so much fun browsing and I've been teaching for 32 years!!! You can always teach an old dog new tricks, especially if you're creative and making learning FUN!!! You must be a VERY SPECIAL TEACHER ... how lucky your students and parents are!!!

I stumbled across your website over the weekend and I'm SO glad I did! Some great ideas and an extra thank you for the UK spellings! I bought the back to school pencils, punctuation puppies, Willy Wonka group project and the characters! I think these are great resources and even though it's the summer holidays, I've been into school to get my display paper up and have put up the title banners - they look brilliant! Thank you!

Heidi, I just had to write and let you know that your website has helped me create the most awesome author study of Roald Dahl's books. My students loved completing the big animal shaped projects you designed for The Enormous Crocodile, Esio Trot, and The Giraffe, and the Pelly and Me. For the final project, they had so much fun writing and drawing about the characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory using your Willy Wonka Factory project. Thanks for sharing your scrumdiddlyumptious ideas !

I feel so fortunate to have found your website and I have referred several of my co-workers to your website. Just for the month of January, there were three teachers displaying your book reports. I had the trophy reports, my neighbor to the left had the computer reports, and my neighbor to the right had the birthday cake reports. Thank you so very much for all of your work!

I just wanted to say thank you for the most amazing teaching resources that I have ever come across in my thirty years of teaching. I have used many of your book report sets this year and my students absolutely loved them. What was particularly pleasing was seeing some of my reluctant readers (especially the boys) really wanting to read books and complete the activities. Keep up the great work!
