Reading Umbrella Sticker Charts - It's Raining Books: These colorful umbrella shaped sticker chart templates will motivate your students to read 20 times (or 20 books) in a time period that you set for them.

There are 20 raindrops for you to place stickers inside of on these reading incentive charts. You can use these sticker charts to promote and encourage your students to read during the spring. Your students will be motivated to reach the target of getting 20 stickers on these reading umbrella sticker charts.

What's Included?

There are two templates to cut out and glue together for these sticker charts: the top umbrella section and the handle. The reading umbrella sticker charts measure 10 inches in width and 15 inches in height when it is assembled.

The stickers are placed inside the raindrops on the umbrella. I have designed the boxes inside the reading umbrella sticker charts to fit the standard small stickers that many teachers use. If you do not have these small stickers, you can draw a smiley face or place a check mark inside each box.

Students write their names in the handle and the umbrella's stick says, "It's Raining Books!"

I realize that not all teachers are able to print out color templates for each of their students, so I have provided black and white templates of this chart. You can have your students color their reading umbrella sticker charts themselves using the black and white templates.

This "It's Raining Books!" sticker chart set contains 37 pages of printable resources and includes the following components:

• Black and white umbrella and handle sticker chart templates (2 pages)


• 9 different colored umbrella and handle sticker chart templates (18 pages)

You can cut out these reading umbrella sticker charts along the thick black lines to have unique umbrella shaped incentive charts.

Below are the black and white reading umbrella sticker charts. There are two handles on each page to save paper when printing these pages.

You can present this award to your students when they have reached their goal. A black and white copy of this award certificate is also included in this set.

Your students will be excited to take their completed Reading Umbrella sticker charts home with them, along with their matching achievement award. Their parents will be impressed with the extra effort that you have put forth in positively reinforcing and encouraging your students to read books on their own.

Bulletin board displays and preparing them take a lot of time for teachers. Many teachers spend their valuable time cutting out large display letters or making a banner on their own at home on their computer.

This time is valuable and better spent on developing your classroom curriculum and grading papers, so I have designed a matching 5 page display banner for your bulletin board. If you have access to a laminating machine, you can laminate your banner so that it is durable and you can use it year after year for your bulletin board display of these Reading Umbrella Sticker Charts.

As your students are reading these 20 books and completing their Reading Umbrella sticker charts, I would encourage you to have your students respond in writing to some of these books. Many students find one page worksheet response sheets very boring.

For this reason, I created a variety of different types of book report projects for my students to complete after they have read a book. Instead of being bored, my students are excited and engaged when they are completing their book report templates and projects. My students look forward to doing these projects and ask me when they get to do their next project. By combining reading incentive charts and creative book report projects, my students have been very enthusiastic about reading books independently.
